If you have read this blog or followed me on LinkedIn, it is no secret I am a fan of Alteryx. Unfortunately, Alteryx licenses are a bit out of my price range for personal use. That is why I am thrilled to show you KNIME, which is a freeware alternative to Alteryx.
KNIME – free alternative to Alteryx
KNIME has a visual workflow similar to Alteryx. It is not quite as intuitive at first, but it is quite good. It has an AI designed to predict what nodes you might need, so it could be even more intuitive with use!
One of the biggest benefits of a tool like KNIME, Alteryx, or even Azure ML studio, is the visual workflows. When you are doing analysis in Excel, or something a more complex with code in R or Python, understanding how it flows together and what processing you have, or haven’t done to various segments of data can get confusing. Everyone has had problems with this. Everyone. With a visual workflow it gets much easier to track that sort of thing.
I’ll film some upcoming videos on simple but powerful things you can do in KNIME to either simplify something you might do in code or replace something complex in Excel.
For now, please check out this intro while the others are being recorded and edited.
